Hello,Hello, I have an Audi A3 1.8 20V Turbo manual transmission. I'm thinking about swapping the manual transmission for a DSG DQ250. I have all the necessary parts (transmission, starter, flywheel, brackets, shift level, axles) I'm researching a way to control the DQ250. I'm using a plug and play megasquirt2 (made by me) to manage the engine. -Armando Attachments:

I'm lost, I don't know where to start with electronics. I have been looking at the website mdac.com.au/2021/04/11/dsg-control-with-rabbit-ecu/. I'll have a good job ahead of me. I understood that I have 2 options, work on developing a standalone module or change the ECU. My car is very old, 1997, it doesn't have a can network! it still uses k-line.

I think I'll have to work on a standalone module.
Develop a module with some I/O, for example.
- switch up shifter (input) - switch downs shifter (input) - canL (communicate with the gearbox with the ecu) - canH - speed sensor (input) - reverse light (output) - brake switch (input) I'm going to take all these input and output signals and work with them in the can network.
For now it’s all ideas… 💡

Hey Armando, Sounds like you are taking on an interesting project. If you are very keen you can make it work, but if you want to buy an existing product to speed things up perhaps you can find one like this: www.vdveer-engineering.nl/en/products/can-convertor-dsg/can-convertor-dsg-manualWe will be using this in conjunction with the Rabbit ECU for a DQ250 transplant into a manual car. With the Rabbit ECU, you can see here it has the DBW IC for running the throttle so the throttle can blip for down-changes. Also, the Rabbit ECU has the very accurate 'schedule to the tooth' ignition control that you need for gear change ignition adjustments. Nice work with the MS ECU rendering did you design that? Cheers, Matthew
